Experience

East Brunswick High School — East Brunswick, NJ

High School Computer Science & Mathematics Educator • Sept, 2011 — Present

  • Built and expanded the computer science program from one teacher offering a limited number of high school sections to a three-teacher program serving students across the junior high and high school.
  • Created a coherent computer science course sequence, giving students a clearer path from introductory coursework to AP-level study, cybersecurity, and dual-enrollment opportunities.
  • Identified the need for a more accessible entry point into computer science before AP Computer Science Principles was formally available, helping East Brunswick launch the course in 2017 with full enrollment.
  • Developed a cybersecurity course beginning in 2019, refined it over multiple years, and helped position the district to offer AP Cybersecurity with an established foundation and student demand.
  • Works closely with the Supervisor of Practical Arts on computer science program decisions, including course sequencing, waivers for advanced students, curriculum revisions, and new course additions.
  • Designed waiver and placement practices that allow advanced students to move appropriately through the sequence while preserving rigor and fairness across the program.
  • Incorporated annual College Board updates into AP Computer Science courses, translating outside requirements into practical curriculum and assessment changes.
  • Built and maintained course structures in Canvas and other LMS platforms to support organization, access, and consistent expectations for students.
  • Wrote and revised curriculum aligned to NJ Student Learning Standards, AP Audit requirements, and dual-enrollment expectations.
  • Teaches students with widely different levels of prior exposure, technology access, and academic preparation, requiring course design that is accessible without lowering expectations.

Middlesex County College

Adjunct Professor • Sept, 2011 — Present

  • Qualified to serve as a dual-enrollment instructor for AP Computer Science Principles, AP Computer Science A, and a one-semester Cybersecurity course.
  • Prepared the course alignment, curriculum documentation, and approval materials for the district’s higher-level computer science courses in coordination with East Brunswick administration and Middlesex College.
  • Secured approval for a one-semester Cybersecurity dual-enrollment course, creating a distinctive college-credit opportunity not previously available through comparable high school dual-enrollment offerings.
